Aryan Khan Opens Up About Dubbing for Salman Khan and Directing Shah Rukh Khan in Netflix Hit

In a recent interview, Aryan Khan, the director of the popular Netflix web series The Ba***ds of Bollywood, revealed fascinating behind-the-scenes details about his work with Bollywood legends. The show, which debuted in 2025, became a standout success, featuring cameos from stars like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, SS Rajamouli, and Ranveer Singh.

Dubbing for Salman Khan's Cameo

Aryan Khan disclosed that he personally dubbed the voice for Salman Khan's appearance in the series. Laughing during the conversation with Filmfare, he said, "I dubbed the scene where Salman Khan says 'bull**** party.' I also dubbed for some of the abuses that were said during the starting of the series. I can take out Salman Khan's voice very well. I'll show it to you all." This revelation highlights Aryan's versatility and his ability to mimic the actor's distinctive voice, adding a personal touch to the production.

Directing Shah Rukh Khan: A Professional Experience

Speaking about directing his father, Shah Rukh Khan, who also produced the show, Aryan praised SRK's professionalism. He noted, "He doesn't forget anything. He is very easy to direct. It's like a cheat code when you work with him. He already knows what needs to be done technically, so I don't have to remind him of those things as a director. Mera kaam ho jaata hai (my work is easily done)." Aryan also joked that the camera person doesn't resent him as a newcomer because his actor is so experienced.

When asked if SRK offers guidance on set, Aryan responded candidly, "I'll be more than happy to be schooled by him. The only thing he keeps telling me is to shoot fewer takes." This advice underscores SRK's focus on efficiency and his trust in his son's directorial skills.

Creative Discussions with Manoj Pahwa

The interview also touched on Aryan's interactions with actor Manoj Pahwa, who received praise for his role in the series. Manoj recalled having creative disagreements, particularly about the use of abusive language. He said, "On a couple of occasions, we had a bit of disagreement as well. Maine bola itni gaali waali yaar, matlab mereko thodi si... itna badtameez aadmi. (I said so many abuses, I mean I was... what an uncouth fellow)."

Aryan reassured him by saying, "Sir, believe me, it will look nice. Trust me." Manoj further revealed his hesitation in delivering a dialogue referring to Shah Rukh as 'ghante ka badshah', but Aryan convinced him by explaining that SRK had approved the script. "He said, 'Dad has read the script, and abusive words sound good coming from you. Dad has said to definitely keep this in the script.'"

Broader Impact and Future Projects

Beyond The Ba***ds of Bollywood, Aryan has collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan on advertisements for the brand D'YAVOL, showcasing their ongoing professional partnership. The Netflix series has been celebrated as a tribute to the defiance that made SRK a megastar, and Aryan's directorial debut marks a significant milestone in his career.

This interview provides a glimpse into the dynamic between Aryan and the Bollywood icons, emphasizing the blend of mentorship and creative freedom that shaped the show's success.
