Family Confirms Health Status and Requests Privacy
Her granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, shared a statement on social media addressing the situation. "My grandmother, Asha Bhosle, has been admitted to the hospital due to extreme exhaustion and a chest infection, and we request you to respect our privacy," she wrote. "Treatment is ongoing, and we hope everything will be well. We will keep you updated with positive news."
The 92-year-old music legend has maintained an active lifestyle despite her age, continuing to perform and inspire audiences worldwide.
Recent Performances and Enduring Energy
Bhosle recently celebrated her 90th birthday with a live concert in Dubai, demonstrating remarkable vitality on stage. Viral videos from the event captured her childlike energy as she danced to Vicky Kaushal's 'Tauba Tauba,' showcasing her enduring passion for performance.
Reflecting on that special ASHA@90 event, Bhosle had told PTI: "At the age of 90, I have to stand for three hours on stage and sing songs, I'm happy I can do this at this age. Humari saans nahin hoti hai toh aadmi mar jata hai. Mere liye music meri saans hai. I have spent my life with this thought. I have given a lot to music."
Reflections on Career and Challenges
Looking back at her extensive seven-decade career, Bhosle shared reflections and minor regrets during previous interviews. She expressed a desire to have explored more languages and delved deeper into classical music while acknowledging the competitive nature of the industry.
"Music kabhi khatam nahin hota. Ye dariya hai. I've sung songs for the main artist and for the dancers as well. I believe I could fit in well with anyone," she said. "But I wish I had sung more songs in different languages. I wish I could have done more classical singing. In every field, there's politics. In films too there's politics, so it is not easy."
She added philosophical perspective: "I believe a lot in destiny, and I believe whatever is meant for me will come to me and what is not meant for me, I'll never get that. I faced difficulties, but today when I look back, it all looks mazedar as I came out of it."
Current Situation and Fan Support
As Bhosle undergoes medical treatment, fans across India and globally are expressing concern and sending wishes for her speedy recovery. The entertainment community has rallied in support of the beloved singer, whose contributions to Indian music remain unparalleled.
Her hospitalization comes as a reminder of her remarkable resilience, having previously spoken about overcoming difficult times: "I feel good I've come out of difficult times. Many times I felt I would not be able to survive, but I did."
The family continues to request privacy during this period while promising to provide updates on her condition as treatment progresses.
