Avinash Tiwary is set to bring a much-needed breath of fresh air to Bollywood with his upcoming film Ginny Weds Sunny 2, a wholesome, family-friendly entertainer that aims to lure audiences back to cinemas. After a series of intense performances, the actor is now stepping into a romantic comedy and is eager for fans to see his fun and cheerful side.
Avinash Tiwary on 'Dhurandhar' Box Office Success
In a conversation with India Today, Tiwary also addressed the box office success of Dhurandhar and whether it could help revive theatre attendance. Speaking about the Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar film, he said, “I think 'Dhurandhar' is a good film. It made money. I just want good films to make money. That’s all. If it’s a good film, it should make its money. If it’s not, you move on.”
In an industry that often chases a fixed formula, Tiwary remains unfazed by the idea that Dhurandhar’s success might trigger a flood of big-budget action dramas. The Laila Majnu actor noted that films don’t work that way, as no one can truly predict what will succeed. “Everyone wants to make good films, and we hope we make good films that people like,” he added.
Avinash Tiwary Says Families Need to Return to Theatres
Discussing his upcoming project, Tiwary emphasized his faith in a crucial audience segment: families. For him, their return to theatres could be a game-changer. “If families come, you fill four times the seats. I keep saying this, families need to come back to cinemas,” he said. The actor also pushed back against societal labels like “soft men” or “alpha men.” “Honestly, I don’t know what those terms mean. I’ve grown up around family men who stood up for their families. Their role was to support growth for everyone, not just themselves,” he remarked.
