Baahubali 2: 9 Years, Makers Share Poster, Fans Celebrate

SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali' franchise was not merely a box office juggernaut; it was a cultural movement that reshaped Indian cinema and propelled regional films onto the global stage. As the second installment, featuring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, and others, marks nine years since its release, the makers have shared a nostalgic post.

Makers Share Iconic Poster

The film's official X handle (formerly Twitter) unveiled a poster from 'Baahubali 2', showcasing Prabhas' iconic fierce stride through the palace. The caption read, "Heysaa….Rudhrassa…The sound that still echoes in our ears. 9 years for #Baahubali2."

'Baahubali 2' narrates the tale of Amarendra Baahubali, Bhallaladeva, and Mahendra Baahubali. The central mystery of the franchise revolved around why Kattappa, Baahubali's most loyal servant, killed him.

Fans React to the Poster

Fans celebrated the film's enduring success with comments like, "Bahubali jayahoooo. The benchmark for Indian movies. Opened doors for many others." Another fan wrote, "9 years for the legend that it was, 9 years of the goosebumps it gave, still represents the PEAK of Indian Cinema to this day, imo. Many tried and failed to replicate the glory ever since." A third added, "Masterpiece is a small word for this classic one," while another simply stated, "The day history was created."

About the 'Baahubali' Franchise

The film amassed over Rs 1800 crore worldwide, becoming the first Indian film to enter the 1000-crore club. In 2025, the makers released 'Baahubali: The Epic', a remastered single-film version combining both parts. This re-release achieved significant box office success and is now streaming on Netflix.

While discussions about a third installment persist, the makers have indicated that it will eventually happen, though not anytime soon.
