Badshah Applauds Dhurandhar Films as a Revolutionary Force in Indian Cinema
Singer-rapper Badshah has expressed immense admiration for the Dhurandhar franchise and its sequel, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, which features Ranveer Singh in the lead role. The acclaimed musician recently shared his enthusiastic review of the films, describing them as a courageous and transformative advancement for the Indian film industry.
'You Don't Watch It, You Experience It': Badshah's Glowing Tribute
Through his Instagram Stories, Badshah conveyed that the Dhurandhar movies transcend traditional narrative boundaries. He wrote, "They said, 'You are not ready for this,' and boy were they right. Dhurandhar 1 & 2 aren't just films; they're a statement. A bold reminder that Indian cinema is stepping into a new era. Fearless, experimental, and unapologetically original."
The rapper further highlighted the deeply immersive nature of the films, commending both their compelling storytelling and exceptional musical scores. "You don't watch Dhurandhar; you experience it. And once you do, there's no going back to ordinary cinema. Music has elevated the film; film elevated the music. This is no nonsense. This is pure style," he elaborated, noting that he has repeatedly revisited the film and its memorable scenes.
A Record-Breaking Franchise Dominating the Box Office
Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, which premiered on March 19, continues to demonstrate remarkable strength at the box office even after 20 days. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has accumulated approximately Rs 1,030 crore in net domestic earnings, with the Indian gross reaching around Rs 1,240 crore. On the international front, the film added Rs 4 crore on its twentieth day, bringing its overseas total to about Rs 404 crore. This impressive performance elevates the worldwide gross to roughly Rs 1,640 crore, solidifying its status as a monumental blockbuster.
The inaugural installment, Dhurandhar, released in December 2025, had already secured its position as the highest-grossing film of the year and the top single-language earner. The sequel surpassed its predecessor's lifetime collection in merely 11 days of release, reinforcing the franchise's supremacy at the box office.
Alongside Ranveer Singh, the film features a stellar ensemble cast including Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt, all of whom reprise their roles in this high-octane sequel.
