Bobby Deol Rumours for Khalifa Dismissed by Film's Writer

The excitement surrounding actor Prithviraj Sukumaran's next big project, the action-thriller Khalifa, has been building for weeks. Even before its official announcement, the film, directed by Vysakh, has been a hot topic of conversation, primarily fueled by various casting speculations circulating online.

The most prominent rumour suggested that Bollywood star Bobby Deol was set to play the antagonist in the movie. However, the film's scriptwriter and maker, Jinu Abraham, has now officially put these rumours to rest.

"Bobby Deol is Not Part of Khalifa": Writer's Firm Clarification

When approached by OTTplay for clarification, Jinu Abraham responded with a laugh, clearly dismissing the widespread speculation. He stated unequivocally, "Bobby Deol is not part of Khalifa." He further elaborated that the team behind the film has no knowledge of such reports, attributing them to baseless news spread by people.

While shutting down the Bobby Deol rumour, Abraham remained tight-lipped but positive about the rest of the cast. When asked about other confirmed actors besides Prithviraj Sukumaran, he said, "We will be confirming most of the names and announcing them soon." This indicates that an official cast reveal is on the horizon, which will finally clear the air.

Other names like action star Vidyut Jammwal and veteran actor Sathyaraj have also been linked to the project, though their involvement remains unconfirmed at this stage.

Prithviraj Sukumaran's Packed Slate of Upcoming Films

While fans eagerly await more news on Khalifa, Prithviraj Sukumaran has other major releases lined up. His next film, an adaptation of G.R. Indugopan's novel Vilayath Buddha, is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on November 21. The film also features Shammi Thilakan and Priyamvada Krishnan in important roles.

Furthermore, the actor is also a part of cinematic maestro S.S. Rajamouli's highly ambitious project, Globetrotter. In this film, Prithviraj will be seen portraying the character of Kumbha. The massive cast includes Mahesh Babu and the Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra, who is making a much-anticipated return to Indian cinema. A special announcement event for this project is set for November 15, 2025, at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, and will be telecast live for fans on the platform JioHostar.
