Bollywood Icons Rally Around Veteran Actor Dharmendra

Mumbai's film fraternity came together in support on Monday night as news spread of veteran actor Dharmendra's hospitalization. The 89-year-old screen legend was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital earlier in the day, prompting immediate concern from colleagues and fans across the industry.

Celebrity Visits and Family Statement

Late Monday evening, Shah Rukh Khan arrived at the hospital accompanied by his son Aryan Khan. The father-son duo maintained a low profile, with their vehicle captured on camera entering the hospital premises while they avoided direct photographs. Earlier in the day, Salman Khan, who shares a long-standing friendship with the Deol family, had also visited to check on the veteran actor's condition.

The hospital saw a steady stream of Bollywood personalities throughout the evening. Actor Govinda made an appearance later in the night, while actress Ameesha Patel was seen leaving the medical facility visibly emotional, requesting privacy from the waiting photographers.

Amid circulating rumors about Dharmendra's health condition, his family issued an official clarification. Sunny Deol's team released a statement confirming that "Mr Dharmendra is stable and under observation." The statement further requested prayers for his speedy recovery and respect for the family's privacy during this time.

Addressing Rumors and Industry Support

The clarification became particularly crucial after some media portals inaccurately reported the actor's passing, only to retract their posts shortly afterward. The swift correction helped alleviate unnecessary panic among the actor's extensive fan base.

Hema Malini, a long-time co-star and family friend, took to social media to address the concerns. She expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and confirmed that Dharmendra was under continuous medical monitoring. "I thank everyone for their concern about Dharam ji who is in hospital for observation," she wrote, joining the family's request for prayers.

Dharmendra, one of Hindi cinema's most beloved figures, has enjoyed a career spanning nearly six decades with over 200 films to his credit. Known for iconic performances in classics like Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, and Mera Gaon Mera Desh, he remains one of Bollywood's most enduring and respected screen legends.
