The makers of the much-anticipated film "Cocktail 2" have unveiled the romantic track "Tujhko", beautifully picturised on the lead pair Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. The song, which released on Monday, has already caught the attention of fans for its tender and intimate vibe.
Shahid Kapoor on Tujhko
Shahid Kapoor, who plays a pivotal role in the film, shared his thoughts on the song in a statement. He said: "Tujhko has a certain stillness to it... the kind that sneaks up on you. It's romantic without trying too hard, and that's what I connected with most. There's an ease and intimacy to the song that feels very real."
The actor further added: "Shooting it with Rashmika was effortless... we just leaned into the emotion of it. I think it's one of those songs people will want to sit with for a while."
Visual and Musical Appeal
Described as a track about soft chemistry and deeply personal yet cinematic moments, "Tujhko" is wrapped in warm visuals, flowing silhouettes, and sunlit frames. It creates a world that feels tender, effortless, and emotionally immersive. The song is composed by Pritam, sung by the soulful Arijit Singh, with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The composition blends emotional vulnerability with a breezy summer softness that perfectly complements the film's world.
Rashmika Mandanna's Reaction
Rashmika Mandanna, who shares the screen with Shahid in the song, expressed her feelings: "For me, Tujhko feels like a warm hug. It's soft, emotional and filled with little moments that feel very real." She added, "I loved shooting this song with Shahid, and I think there's something very calming and beautiful about the way the song unfolds."
About Cocktail 2
Directed by Homi Adajania, "Cocktail 2" is set to release in cinemas on June 19. The film is considered a spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit "Cocktail", which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. The previous song from the film, "Mashooqa", featuring Shahid and Kriti Sanon, had sparked controversy after allegations surfaced that it resembled the 1993 Italian song 'Se So Arrubate A Nonna' by duo Bibi & Coco. However, singer Raghav Chaitanya came out in support of composer Pritam Chakraborty, calling the plagiarism claims "completely baseless."
