In a surprising development, veteran actor Govinda is set to appear on the cooking reality show Maa Hai Na to support his daughter Tina Ahuja. Tina, along with her mother Ssunita Ahuja, was originally participating as a team on the show, produced by Preeti and Neeti Simoes. However, with Ssunita unavailable for the past few episodes, Govinda will step in to fill her role.
Govinda Replaces Ssunita Ahuja on the Show
A source close to the production shared, “Ssunita ji has been unable to shoot for the past few episodes. We thought of bringing in another important person in Tina’s life to support her on the show. That is how we approached Govinda sir, and we are glad he agreed to be a part of Maa Hai Na. He is scheduled to shoot for the episode today.” While many speculate that this appearance could lead to a public reunion amid recent rumors about Govinda and Ssunita’s relationship, sources indicate that is not the plan.
Focus on Family Bonds, Not Reunion
The show, hosted by Shilpa Shetty, emphasizes emotional connections and family relationships. Producer duo Preeti and Neeti Simoes have been expanding their reality show portfolio with Maa Hai Na, a family-centric cooking format that highlights bonds between participants. Tina Ahuja’s participation has drawn attention, especially after Govinda’s entry.
Govinda and Ssunita have been married since 1987 and are parents to Tina and son Yashvardhan Ahuja. Despite recent media speculation about their relationship following Ssunita’s interviews about living separately, both have consistently denied separation rumors. They have reaffirmed their commitment to each other and continue to appear together at family events. Tina made her acting debut in Second Hand Husband, while Yashvardhan is preparing for his film career.
Show Format and Participants
Maa Hai Na features family pairings and emotional storytelling. Social media personality Manisha Rani is participating with her father, initially the only contestant not paired with her mother. Tina Ahuja has now joined the lineup briefly, with Govinda stepping in to cheer her on. The episode is expected to highlight the father-daughter bond rather than address any personal family matters.
