In a significant move to combat objectionable digital content, the Haryana Police has intensified its enforcement actions against the song 'Tateeree' by popular rapper Badshah. According to recent data released by the Panchkula Police, a total of 857 links associated with the track have been removed from various online platforms. This includes 154 YouTube videos and 703 Instagram Reels, as authorities step up efforts to curb the dissemination of material deemed derogatory towards women and minors.
Legal Framework and Coordination with Social Media Platforms
Police officials have emphasized that these actions are being carried out within a strict legal framework, in close coordination with major social media companies. Notices have been issued to platforms, directing them to remove all versions of the song, including re-uploads, short videos, and other formats. This measure specifically targets content that employs offensive language, aiming to protect vulnerable groups and maintain digital decency.
Strong Warnings from Top Police Officials
Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Ajay Singhal has made it clear that content violating the dignity of women and minors will not be tolerated. He stated that strict legal action will continue in such cases, with digital surveillance being strengthened to ensure compliance with the law. DGP Singhal added that this initiative sends a positive message against the circulation of objectionable material, reflecting the Haryana government's commitment, under Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, to fostering a safe and responsible digital environment.
Public Advisory and Potential Consequences
Additional Director General of Police and Panchkula Commissioner Sibas Kabiraj has issued a stern warning to the public. Anyone found creating or sharing Reels, Shorts, or other videos featuring the banned song will face strict legal action. In such instances, associated social media accounts may be blocked or restricted, and repeat offenders could face cases under stringent legal provisions. This advisory aims to deter further spread of the content and promote accountability among users.

The matter is currently under investigation following an FIR registered at the Cyber Police Station in Sector 20, Panchkula. Police teams are continuously monitoring digital content to identify individuals and accounts involved in disseminating the song.
