Imran Khan auditioned for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi 6 before his breakthrough role. He revealed that the filmmakers opted for a more saleable hero, Abhishek Bachchan, due to concerns over investing in an untested actor. "I was quite devastated that I did not get the part," Imran admitted, noting his personal connection to the character, an American of Indian origin navigating cultural tensions in Delhi's Chandni Chowk.
