Bollywood actor and motorsport enthusiast John Abraham was behind the wheel of the Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition, serving as the Official Safety Car at the IRL Goa Street Race. This event marked Round 4 of the 2025–26 season and was the league's first-ever street circuit held in Goa, adding a new chapter to India's growing motorsport scene.

Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition: Performance and Specifications

The Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition, built on the brand's INGLO platform, draws direct inspiration from Mahindra's participation in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. This electric SUV is powered by a robust 79 kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor that delivers an impressive 282 bhp and 380 Nm of torque.

According to Mahindra, the vehicle boasts a range of 653 km as per ARAI testing standards, with over 680 km achievable under MIDC conditions. Performance-wise, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 202 kmph. For charging convenience, it supports fast charging from 20 to 80 percent in approximately 20 minutes using a 180 kW DC charger.

Design and Features of the Special Edition

Launched in late 2025, the BE 6 Formula E Edition is based on the 79 kWh version of the standard BE 6 and is offered in two variants: the FE2 priced at Rs 23.69 lakh (ex-showroom) and the FE3 at Rs 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The FE3 variant adds premium features such as adaptive suspension and 20-inch wheels.

On the exterior, this special edition stands out with a revised front bumper featuring circular projector headlamps, a larger rear wing, and distinctive orange highlights on the brake calipers and tow hooks. It is available in four color options: Everest White, Firestorm Orange, Tango Red, and Stealth Black.

Inside, the cabin adopts a black and orange theme with translucent door panels, FIA branding on the seat belts, and a mix of Alcantara and suede upholstery. Tech highlights include a race-inspired flip-cap cover for the start/stop button, Formula E-themed startup animations on dual 12.3-inch screens, and custom exterior sound signatures.
