Bollywood Star Kriti Sanon Raises Alarm Over Delhi's Toxic Air
Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon has publicly expressed grave concern regarding the severely deteriorating air quality in the national capital, Delhi. The actor, who hails from Delhi herself, made these urgent remarks during a press conference held for her upcoming film, Tere Ishq Mein.
‘It is Getting Worse and Worse’: Kriti’s Stark Warning
Speaking with visible concern, Sanon stated that mere discussions are no longer sufficient. “I don’t think saying anything will help. It (pollution) is getting worse and worse,” she asserted. Drawing from her personal experience, she added, “I am from Delhi, and I know what it used to be earlier, and it is getting worse. Something needs to be done to stop it; otherwise, it will reach a point where we won’t be able to see each other standing next to each other.” Her comments highlight a desperate plea for concrete action from the authorities.
The Grim Reality of Delhi's Air Pollution Crisis
Kriti Sanon's warnings are backed by alarming data. On the day of her press conference, Sunday, November 23, 2025, residents of Delhi-NCR woke up to a thick blanket of smog. According to the private air quality tracker AQI.in, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at a staggering 559. To put this in perspective, any AQI reading above 500 is classified as 'hazardous', posing serious health risks to the entire population.
Amidst the discussion on the environmental crisis, Kriti also took a moment to praise her co-star from Tere Ishq Mein, Dhanush. She described him as an “incredible actor” and expressed her admiration for his craft and nuanced performances. She also highlighted his experience as a director, which brings a valuable perspective to their scenes together.
Director Aanand L Rai has positioned the film as a “spiritual sequel” to his earlier hit, Raanjhanaa. Produced by Aanand L Rai, Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar, the movie boasts music composed by the legendary AR Rahman with lyrics by Irshad Kamil. Tere Ishq Mein is scheduled for a theatrical release in Hindi and Tamil on November 28.
