Narayanan recounted a particularly challenging period when he received a job opportunity in Bangalore. "I flew for the first time for that job, which cost me Rs. 5000," he revealed. "At that time, I used to save change in CD covers. Traveling with those savings left me with just 150 rupees when I returned."
The composer described what he called his "cycle of nothingness" during those difficult days. He shared a heartbreaking anecdote about being charged Rs. 300 for watching television on the flight. "I lied about losing my wallet and gave them my remaining Rs. 150. They claimed to send the television, but it never reached me because I couldn't pay the courier charges," Narayanan emotionally recalled.
He emphasized how these experiences shaped his understanding of real economic challenges. "It was only after I returned to Chennai that I understood what true economic struggle meant. But that very effort brought me to the position I hold today. I pursued my passions, and this is the reward I received," he concluded, inspiring attendees with his journey from hardship to success.
