While naming the key actors involved, he stated, "Mohanlal, Shah Rukh Khan, Ramya Krishnan, Shivarajkumar," thereby inadvertently confirming Khan's participation. It is important to note that an official announcement from the film's producers, Sun Pictures, is still awaited, and the nature of Shah Rukh Khan's role remains under wraps.
Expanding the Star-Studded Universe of Jailer 2
The sequel to the 2023 superhit Jailer is shaping up to be a pan-Indian cinematic event. Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar, who had a cameo in the first film, has already begun shooting for his part in the sequel. He revealed to Behindwoods that his role this time will be more substantial. "Jailer 2 will somewhat continue from where the 2023 film left off. It’s more than a cameo for me in this film," he said, adding that he shot for a day and will return for filming on January 8th, 9th, and 10th.
Shivarajkumar also credited director Nelson Dilipkumar for the original film's massive success, praising his clever use of Rajinikanth in an age-appropriate role that led to universal appeal. The cast continues to grow with recent confirmations from actors like Vinayakan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Santhanam, and Meghana Raj Sarja, who is making her Tamil cinema comeback. Malayalam actor Anna Raajan is also on board.
