Mohit Suri Reportedly Considers 'Satranga' for Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda Reunion Film

Following the success of 'Saiyaara', director Mohit Suri is reportedly in discussions to title his upcoming film 'Satranga'. The project reunites actors Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda for another love story backed by Yash Raj Films, shaping up as a twisted musical romantic drama.

Title Details and Production Buzz

According to reports from Variety India, 'Satranga' is the first-choice title under consideration, though it remains a working title at this stage. The title is registered with T-Series, and it is still unclear whether the makers will secure it for the film. The name fits the film's reported tone and story, and it evokes memories of Arijit Singh's hit love song from 'Animal' (2023), starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna.

Ahaan and Aneet are reuniting with Mohit Suri for a second time after 'Saiyaara', which became a major romantic box-office success last year. This new project is expected to feature a more layered and unconventional love story. Mohit Suri is currently working on the final draft of the script, with shooting scheduled to begin by the end of this year and an aim for a late 2027 release.

Actors' Commitments and YRF's Strategy

Before starting this film, both actors are wrapping up their current commitments. Ahaan Panday is shooting Ali Abbas Zafar’s action romance, while Aneet Padda is working on Maddock Films' 'Shakti Shalini', the next installment in the studio’s horror-comedy universe.

Yash Raj Films is placing strong faith in this second collaboration. While announcing the film, YRF CEO Akshaye Widhwani described it as "more honest, more vulnerable and more enduring", aiming to create a film that stays with viewers long after it ends. This project joins a tighter YRF slate, as the Aditya Chopra-led banner restructures its Spy Universe after the poor performance of 'War 2'. This year, only Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s 'Alpha' are lined up for release, and the company is also co-producing Hrithik Roshan’s 'Krrish 4', though its production timeline remains uncertain.
