Mrunal Thakur's Candid Confession: From Insecurities to Self-Love
Bollywood actor Mrunal Thakur has bravely opened up about her prolonged battle with insecurities and underconfidence, revealing that it took her years to fully accept herself. Speaking at the trailer launch event for her upcoming film "Do Deewane Seher Mein" in Mumbai, Thakur shared her personal journey of overcoming self-doubt that persisted even after entering the glamorous film industry.
The Long Road to Self-Acceptance
Thakur confessed that she struggled with insecurities for the longest time, tracing these feelings back to her childhood when she frequently changed schools. "When I used to change schools all the time, there were some insecurities. I used to feel underconfident...Up until now...till the release of my film 'Son of Sardaar 2', I used to feel that way," the actor revealed during the event.
She emphasized the significant time it took for her to embrace her authentic self, stating: "I realised it took me a lot of time to accept that yes, I am beautiful the way I am. And I'm just so proud of myself with the way I am."
Rejecting Unrealistic Industry Standards
The actor spoke passionately about resisting the pressure to conform to unrealistic beauty standards prevalent in the entertainment industry. "There was so much noise around, everyone thought, look perfect, do this body, do that, look like this, manicure, pedicure, pretend, just cross your legs. No, man. I'm just perfectly imperfect and I love that," Thakur declared, embracing her unique identity.
Choosing 'Do Deewane Seher Mein'
When asked about her decision to join the cast of "Do Deewane Seher Mein," which features Siddhant Chaturvedi and is directed by Ravi Udyawar, Thakur explained that she was immediately convinced after hearing the film's narration. "Sir (Udyawar) actually gave me a call and said, 'Mrunal, I want you to hear something'...It's very rare that you just say, 'Sir, let's start shooting.' That was the time. It was so easy because I had to do it from my heart," she shared.
Connecting with the Audience
Thakur expressed strong belief that audiences will deeply connect with the upcoming film. "Through this movie, I just want to let the audience know that this film is for you. You will be able to resonate with it. When you watch that film, sitting in that seat, you should feel like you're a part of that movie," she said, highlighting the project's emotional appeal.
The film is scheduled for theatrical release on February 20, promising to deliver a compelling cinematic experience that reflects Thakur's personal journey of self-discovery and acceptance.
