Entrepreneur Murali Kunnumpurath's Emotional Video Goes Viral on Social Media
Murali Kunnumpurath, an entrepreneur and film producer who gained recognition through Jayasurya's movie Vellam, has recently captured widespread attention on social media with a deeply emotional video. In the footage, he appears visibly distressed and openly discusses his current life challenges, shedding light on personal and professional hardships.
Clarifying the Gap Between Cinema Image and Real Life
Murali Kunnumpurath took the opportunity to clarify that his on-screen portrayal in films does not reflect his actual circumstances. He described himself as an ordinary individual grappling with severe difficulties, stating, "I believe most of you know me. Many of you might have seen the film Vellam. What was shown in that movie was for cinema—it's not my real life. I am just an ordinary person." He explained that his life now feels entirely stagnant, which motivated him to address the public directly through this heartfelt video.
Detailing Business Setbacks and Feelings of Betrayal
The entrepreneur detailed significant setbacks from his export business prior to entering the film industry. He mentioned shipping tiles to destinations such as Dubai, Australia, and Africa, but faced unpaid dues from several Malayali associates. Murali expressed that he trusted people in business, leading to substantial financial losses, and he still owes payments to various companies. This sense of betrayal has compounded his struggles, leaving him in a precarious financial position.
Film Production Ventures Adding to Financial Woes
Murali Kunnumpurath's foray into film production has further exacerbated his troubles. He produced Nadhikalil Sundari Yamuna at the request of Unni Vellora and Vijesh Panathoor, resulting in a loss of approximately Rs 2 crore. His subsequent project, Sumathi Valavu, directed by Vishnu Sasi Shankar and written by Abhilash Pillai, deepened his financial crisis. Murali revealed, "I lost around Rs 2 crore in that. Then came Sumathi Valavu. I believed it would be a big success. But now my life has completely slipped away. I feel like I have no option other than to die. I haven't lived enough, I haven't fulfilled my desires. But because of this film, I lost around Rs 7 crore." These failures have intensified his existing debts, making his situation increasingly dire.
Naming Individuals and Expressing Disappointment
In the video, Murali expressed profound disappointment with specific individuals involved in his film projects. He warned others against trusting them, describing feelings of being cheated and ruined. He stated, "Abhilash Pillai, Vishnu… never trust them. Vishnu doesn't even know direction. Everyone are frauds. Everyone should know this truth. They all together cheated me. They ruined my good life. May God forgive them." He added that creditors are not allowing him to live peacefully and advised people against drinking, attributing part of his predicament to alcohol consumption.
Remorseful Reflections and Final Pleas
Murali sounded remorseful about the impact of his struggles on others, saying, "I can't hold on anymore. I really can't. I already have a lot of debts, and this has added to it. So I feel like I'm going. I'm going… I haven't had enough of living with my wife and children. But creditors are not letting me live. Everyone cheated me, everyone fooled me, and made me like this. Forgive me, everyone. Because of me, many people have suffered. Please, none of you should ever drink. This is what my life has come to. Sorry, friends… I'm sorry." The film Sumathi Valavu, which starred Arjun Ashokan and was scripted by Abhilash Pillai, remains a poignant example of his cinematic misfortunes.
