Nick Jonas Reveals Details About Priyanka's Grueling Shoot Schedule
During a candid conversation on the Zach Sang Show podcast, Nick Jonas opened up about the 'Baahubali' and RRR director's next venture. He disclosed that Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been filming for 'Varanasi' intermittently over an extensive period of 14 months, highlighting the film's scale and dedication. "Priyanka has been shooting one movie for 14 months, on and off. It’s a South Indian film with SS Rajamouli, who directed RRR, his last movie. This is his next big film; it’s going to be incredible," Jonas remarked, underscoring the project's monumental nature.
Nick Jonas Expresses Deep Admiration for Indian Film Music
Beyond discussing the film, Nick Jonas also shared his profound appreciation for Hindi and Indian music, describing the melodies as "incredible" and uniquely grand. He elaborated on how music in Indian films often originates from cinematic contexts and evolves into cultural phenomena, with actors lip-syncing to powerful vocal performances. "The melodies are just so incredible. They are on a scale that we are not as familiar with over here. The thing I love about Hindi music and music from Southeast Asia is that, a lot of the time, the music comes from a film and becomes famous," he explained.
Jonas further praised the specialized role of music composers in crafting songs that resonate as big hits and enhance cinematic experiences. "So often it’s the actors who are lip-syncing to someone else’s voice. But there are these music composers who specialise in making songs sound like big hits and fit cinematically. That’s something very inspiring to me. There’s so much great music in Indian cinema," he added, noting how Indian music often transforms into celebratory moments, with audiences dancing in theaters.
