PM Modi gifts Melody chocolates to Italy's Meloni, video viral

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is known for his kind gestures towards foreign dignitaries. From gifting traditional arts to heritage fabrics, he has often promoted Indian cultural heritage on his international trips. In his most recent gesture, PM Modi gifted Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni a packet of 'Melody' chocolates during his visit to Rome, the final leg of his five-nation tour.

Meloni's Thank You Note

According to a video post on X by the Italian leader, both looked very happy and cheerful in the candid capture, where she thanked him for the gift. Sharing the video on X, Meloni wrote, 'Thank you for the gift.' In the viral video, the Italian Prime Minister said, 'Prime Minister Modi brought as a gift, a very, very good toffee-Melody.' The term 'Melodi' had earlier gained popularity during previous meetings between the two leaders and is a blend of the surnames Modi and Meloni.

What Makes Melody a Classic Treat

As the video went viral, the dark-colored packet of Melody chocolate instantly revived childhood memories of enjoying the chocolate that offers a unique combination of caramel and chocolate flavors. Melody has a creamy chocolate center that gives a rich cocoa-like flavor, and the outer layer is chewy caramel, adding buttery sweetness and a slightly toffee-like taste. It actually starts as a chewy candy and slowly bursts into a soft chocolate filling.
