Bollywood actor and Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta recently opened up about why she dislikes being referred to as a 'trophy.' During a lively Q&A session on X (formerly Twitter) under the hashtag #pzchat, Zinta addressed a fan's comment that called her a 'trophy.'
Preity's Response to 'Trophy' Comment
A fan shared a viral tweet that read: 'There's a reason why she hasn't won a trophy cuz she is the trophy.' Reacting to it, Zinta responded with her trademark warmth and clarity: 'Thank you, that's very sweet, but honestly speaking, no woman wants to be a trophy. Trophies are owned, women are not! Trophies are kept in glass cupboards, and a woman's place is in your life and in your heart. Filmy question ke liye filmy answer for you Ting!'
Upcoming Films: Lahore 1947 and Vibe
Zinta also discussed her film choices. About her upcoming project Lahore 1947, she said: 'I always wanted to do a period film, that's why I signed Lahore 1947, and of course, it's with one of my favourite directors, Rajkumar Santoshi, and Sunny (Sunny Deol) is always a pleasure to work with.' She added that the film revolves around a love story set against the backdrop of the Partition era.
Talking about another project, Vibe, the actor shared: 'Vibe is just a really funny, light-hearted film and was great to do after the intensity of Lahore 1947.' She also revealed that both films are slated for release later this year.
Praise for Shreyas Iyer
When a fan asked about her experience working with Shreyas Iyer at Punjab Kings, Zinta praised his leadership: 'He is an inspiring and strategic leader who leads by example. Intelligent, calm, inclusive, and accessible to the whole team. On a fun note, he is also incredible with kids; that's why my kids lovingly call him Shreyas Bhaiya and adore him.'
