Delhi High Court Grants Interim Bail to Actor Rajpal Yadav in Cheque Bounce Case
Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav, who was held in custody at Tihar jail after being ordered to surrender in multiple cheque bounce cases, has finally secured interim bail from the Delhi High Court. The court's decision comes after a hearing that was initially held last week on Thursday and subsequently adjourned to Monday, February 16.
Court Conditions and Financial Deposit
The Delhi High Court had set a strict deadline for Yadav, requiring him to deposit Rs 1.5 crore by 3 PM if he wished to obtain bail. The actor successfully managed to meet this financial obligation within the stipulated time frame. In its latest ruling, the court has granted an interim suspension of sentence to Rajpal Yadav in connection with the cheque bounce case filed against him.
While granting this relief, the court specifically noted that the sum of Rs 1.5 crore had already been deposited into the respondent's bank account. Taking this submission into consideration, the bench ordered that the sentence be suspended subject to certain clearly defined conditions.
Bail Terms and Next Hearing Date
As part of the bail conditions, Yadav has been directed to furnish a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh along with one surety of an equivalent amount. This interim relief means the actor will remain out of custody until March 18, which is the date fixed for the next hearing in this ongoing legal matter.
Family Response and Industry Support
Rajpal Yadav has yet to make any public comment regarding his release or the case. However, in an exclusive conversation with Bombay Times, his wife Radha expressed gratitude toward the film industry for their unwavering support during this challenging period.
Speaking about the support her husband has been receiving from industry colleagues, Radha stated, "Our whole family is together at this time. We are very grateful for the support and love he is receiving from his fans and the film fraternity."
Addressing Rumors of Financial Assistance
There have been widespread rumors suggesting that multiple prominent actors, including Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Ajay Devgn, among others, have stepped in to pay off Yadav's debts. Radha addressed these speculations directly, clarifying the situation without revealing specific details.
She explained, "I can't take any specific names right now, but I would just want to say many people from the industry have stepped in to support. I'm not able to divulge names and figures at this stage. We are very hopeful that he will be out soon. That's all I can say now. Once Rajpalji is out, he will be able to speak to you and the media and give further clarity on the matter."
The case continues to develop, with the next court hearing scheduled for March 18, where further legal proceedings will determine the final outcome of this cheque bounce case against the veteran Bollywood actor.
