Rajpal Yadav and Wife Radha Share Candid Details on Jail Crisis and Family Resilience

Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav and his wife Radha have recently opened up about one of the most challenging periods in their lives, when the actor faced legal troubles and was briefly incarcerated. In a heartfelt interview, the couple detailed how they navigated the crisis, managed family responsibilities, and maintained strength throughout the ordeal.

Legal Troubles and Incarceration Details

Rajpal Yadav was sent to Tihar Jail in February 2026 to serve a six-month sentence. This legal action stemmed from a cheque bounce case involving Rs 9 crore, related to his 2010 directorial debut film, Ata Pata Laapata. He was granted interim bail on February 17, 2026, after making a partial payment of the debt. As of March 2026, legal battles in this matter were still ongoing, adding to the family's stress.

Radha's Struggle to Keep the Family Together

Recalling the difficult time, Radha Yadav described the overwhelming nature of the situation, compounded by social media scrutiny and personal responsibilities. "It was a lot to take in. With social media and him being inside jail, there was so much happening at that time," she shared. The family also had a wedding scheduled around the same period, and with young children at home, Radha found herself juggling multiple roles.

"I was just trying to juggle everything, manage things, and keep everyone together," she explained. Her immediate priority was ensuring stability at home while hoping for Rajpal's release, especially since the wedding date could not be changed. She focused on keeping the family positive, explaining the situation to her elder daughter who was aware through social media, while shielding her younger seven-year-old child from the complexities.

Rajpal's Emotional Toll and Praise for Radha

Rajpal Yadav admitted that the emotional impact of the episode was profound, particularly due to its effect on his family. "Radha had absolutely nothing to do with any of these issues. All the meetings and everything related to the case were handled by me," he stated. However, he emphasized that the trauma inevitably affected the entire family, which hurt him deeply.

"That is what hurt me the most—not for myself, but for my wife and my family," Rajpal expressed. He went on to praise Radha for her incredible strength during the crisis, managing family affairs, traveling between Mumbai and their village, and handling their mixed family background. "I respect her a hundred times more now. I don't think I can ever repay what she has done," he added, highlighting her resilience.

Early Marriage and Educational Pursuits

The couple also reflected on their early marriage and Radha's commitment to education. Radha got married at the age of 18 but insisted on completing her degree. "I told him that I want to complete my degree. I wanted to study interiors," she shared. They dedicated two years to her studies, including time spent in London and at the American InterContinental University in Dubai, showcasing their support for each other's goals.

Rajpal as the Family Pillar

Despite the hardships, Radha described Rajpal as the cornerstone of their family, someone who ensures unity in all situations. "He is very strong... in the entire family, I think he is the glue that has held everybody together," she said. Rajpal made a promise to his mother years ago to keep everyone together, and he stands by it, even if it requires compromise or persuasion.

She also mentioned that Rajpal's daughter from his first marriage is settled in Lucknow and has two children, illustrating the extended family dynamics they navigate. This candid revelation offers a glimpse into the personal lives of Bollywood personalities, emphasizing themes of resilience, family bonds, and overcoming adversity in the face of public scrutiny.
