Rakul Preet Singh Jokes: 'Send Me If a Bulb Fails at Shah Rukh Khan's House'
Rakul Preet Singh's Fan Moment with Shah Rukh Khan

Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh recently shared an amusing and heartfelt anecdote about her extreme fandom for superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who has temporarily moved into a building owned by her in-laws. The revelation came during a candid interview, highlighting the excitement of having the iconic actor as a neighbour.

A Superstar Tenant Moves In

With his iconic Mumbai mansion, Mannat, currently undergoing renovation, Shah Rukh Khan has relocated to a luxurious four-floor apartment in Puja Casa, a building owned by veteran film producer Vashu Bhagnani. This move, which took place earlier this year, is expected to last for the next couple of years. The star is reportedly paying a staggering rent of over Rs 25 lakh for the property, which is estimated to be worth a massive Rs 8.5 crore.

Rakul Preet Singh's Fan-Girl Moment

Rakul Preet Singh, who is married to Vashu Bhagnani's son, Jackky Bhagnani, lives in a building close to where SRK has moved. The actress could not contain her excitement upon hearing the news. In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, she laughed as she recalled telling her husband, "I am such a Shah Rukh sir fan that I told Jackky ki jab bhi kuch bhi karana ho ghar pe, unko kisi se baat karni ho, send me, I want to be there."

Her enthusiasm, however, was met with a moment of disappointment. Rakul was away shooting for her film, De De Pyaar De 2, when Shah Rukh Khan officially moved into the building. She confessed to getting "very upset" that her husband Jackky went to welcome the superstar by himself, leaving her out of the initial meeting.

The 'Bulb Not Working' Excuse to Meet SRK

Not one to give up, the determined actress came up with a playful plan to ensure she got her chance to meet her idol. Rakul shared with a laugh, "I told Jackky that in case a bulb is not working, or there is an electricity issue, send me, I will get an opportunity to meet him." This humorous remark perfectly captures the extent of her admiration for the King of Bollywood.

Fortunately, Rakul didn't have to rely on faulty electrical appliances for long. She later had the opportunity to meet Shah Rukh Khan over a dinner and found him to be extremely welcoming and gracious. This fan moment was finally complete, much to her delight.

This temporary relocation also had an impact on Shah Rukh Khan's famous birthday tradition. In November 2025, his fans gathered for hours outside Mannat for his birthday, but the star had to cancel his appearance due to security concerns related to his current living arrangement.

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in Siddharth Anand's much-anticipated film, 'King', which is scheduled for release in 2026.
