"This marks my fifth film, with Kantara being my fourth. Yet, it feels akin to my debut because it represents my inaugural pan-India endeavor. For the first time, I am conceptualizing narratives in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and even Spanish. The scope has expanded significantly, demanding a fresh approach where every element is elevated to new heights," he explained.

For Shetty, the cornerstone of any cinematic venture is the story and screenplay. He asserts that a compelling narrative inherently increases a film's potential for success. Consequently, whether he is writing, directing, or performing, his primary focus remains on developing a robust script. He likens a script to a foundation, stating, "If the basement is sturdy, any structure can be built upon it. Conversely, a weak foundation leads to collapse. This analogy guides my storytelling. I do not select a character and construct a plot around it; instead, the story must always take precedence."

Shetty recounted instances to Variety where immediate shifts were necessary: "During certain action sequences where I was performing, background issues would arise. I would promptly grab the microphone, ascend to a higher point, and communicate with the artists.
