Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar made a significant visit to the national capital on Tuesday, February 10, accompanied by his family, for a special personal mission: distributing invitations for his son Arjun Tendulkar's upcoming wedding to Saaniya Chandok. The legendary batsman personally called upon the country's most prominent political figures at their official Delhi residences.
Meeting the Nation's Leadership
Sachin Tendulkar first met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, extending a formal invitation to the wedding ceremony. Following their meeting, Tendulkar took to social media platform X to express his gratitude, stating, "We were honoured to invite Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji to Arjun and Saaniya's wedding. Thank you, Modi ji, for your blessings and thoughtful advice for the young couple."
The Master Blaster then proceeded to Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he met President Droupadi Murmu. Reflecting on their previous encounter, Tendulkar shared, "Last February, Hon'ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu ji graciously hosted us at Rashtrapati Bhavan. We relived some of those cherished memories when we met the President today to invite her to Arjun and Saaniya's wedding. Thank you for your warm wishes, Hon'ble President."

The former cricketer also visited Union Home Minister Amit Shah, cordially inviting him to the wedding festivities. Tendulkar acknowledged the warmth extended by Shah, posting on X, "We cordially invited Hon'ble Home Minister Shri @AmitShah ji to Arjun and Saaniya's wedding. Thank you for the warmth extended to our family, we deeply appreciate your kind wishes."
In a gesture spanning political lines, Tendulkar met with Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. The former Rajya Sabha MP stated, "Our family had the opportunity to meet Shri @RahulGandhi ji and invite him to Arjun-Saaniya's wedding." The Wedding Couple: Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandok
Arjun Tendulkar, the 26-year-old cricketing all-rounder, got engaged to Saaniya Chandok in August of last year. The young sportsman has played five IPL matches for Mumbai Indians, taking three wickets while conceding 114 runs and scoring 13 runs in his IPL career so far. After making his debut for Mumbai in domestic cricket in 2021, Arjun currently represents Goa. Ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction, he was traded from Mumbai Indians to Lucknow Super Giants.
Saaniya Chandok comes from a distinguished family background as the granddaughter of Ravi Ghai, Chairman of the Graviss Group. She has maintained a close friendship with the Tendulkar family for several years, particularly with Arjun's sister, Sara Tendulkar. Professionally, Saaniya serves as a Designated Partner and Director at Mr. Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP in Mumbai, according to Ministry of Corporate Affairs records.
