Renowned for her bold and fearless roles in both Marathi and Hindi cinema, actor Sai Tamhankar has recently shared a troubling experience from her initial days in the film industry. In a candid and revealing interview, she recounted receiving an inappropriate and unsettling phone call that left her disturbed, yet undeterred.
A Firm Reply to Unwanted Advances
Rather than remaining silent or passive, Tamhankar responded with immediate firmness. She described giving a "karara jawab" (a sharp retort) to the inappropriate offer and promptly ending the conversation. Speaking with Bollywood Bubble, the actor emphasized that such behavior is unfortunately not exclusive to the entertainment world.
"Not only in our profession, but such things happen everywhere," she stated, highlighting that women across various fields and industries encounter similar situations of harassment and unwanted advances. She expressed gratitude that, apart from that one isolated incident many years ago, she has been fortunate not to face anything comparable again.
"Fortunately, it never happened to me except for one random phone call many, many years ago, and I gave it a firm reply," Tamhankar affirmed, underscoring the importance of standing one's ground.

"It's important to know that there are other ways, casting couch is not the only way," she asserted, challenging a pervasive and harmful myth within the industry.
