She recounted being on a trip abroad with her boyfriend, initially convinced that their relationship was ideal. "I was thinking, 'This is it. It's too good to be true. What a life, wow. This is the best relationship,'" she shared, highlighting the stark contrast between her perception and the reality that soon unfolded.

What began as an ordinary evening quickly turned into a moment of profound betrayal. As Shanaya and her boyfriend prepared for dinner, he asked her to arrange a cab. With her phone out of battery, she decided to use his device, a simple action that led to a devastating revelation. Upon unlocking his phone, a message from his ex-girlfriend appeared on the screen. Curiosity turned to disbelief as Shanaya opened the chat and found what she later termed inappropriate exchanges.
With each scroll, more secrets emerged, revealing similar conversations with four additional women. "The second girl popped up, the third girl, the fourth, the fifth. There were five girls he was messaging," Shanaya disclosed, emphasizing that he acted as though he were not in a committed relationship at the time.
Seeking Support from Friends
Overwhelmed by the discovery, Shanaya felt isolated and unsure how to proceed. She captured screenshots of the messages and shared them with close friends on Snapchat, seeking advice and comfort. Among those she reached out to was fellow actor Ananya Panday, who urged her to leave immediately and come over since they were nearby. However, being in a foreign country left Shanaya feeling trapped and powerless.
"My friend, Ananya (Panday) was like, 'Catch a train and just come here.' We were pretty close by... I was like, 'I can't just catch a fucking train, what do I do?' This whole dinner, I'm pretending like everything's okay," Shanaya recounted, illustrating the emotional strain of maintaining appearances.

For three days after uncovering the messages, Shanaya continued to hide her emotions, acting as if nothing was wrong during dinners and outings. Although their relationship ended shortly thereafter, Shanaya admitted she still owns and occasionally wears the earrings, joking that she had "earned" them.
