Wedding Delay Sparks Online Speculation
The planned wedding between Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palaash Muchhal has been unexpectedly postponed, triggering widespread online speculation and unfounded rumours. The ceremony was scheduled for November 23 in Sangli but faced consecutive health emergencies affecting both families.
Medical Emergencies Force Postponement
Smriti Mandhana's father, Shrinivas Mandhana, experienced heart attack-like symptoms just before the wedding and was urgently admitted to Sarvhit Hospital. Medical reports confirmed his condition stabilized after treatment, with angiography revealing no blockages. He was discharged on November 24.
In a subsequent health scare, groom Palaash Muchhal was hospitalized a day later complaining of chest pain, breathlessness and uneasiness. Doctors attributed his condition to stress rather than serious cardiac issues. His cousin Neeti Tak appealed to the public via social media, requesting prayers and discouraging premature judgments about Palaash's condition.
Choreographer Denies Rumours
Amid the wedding postponement, online speculation implicated choreographers Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz Khan in unfounded allegations. Gulnaaz Khan addressed these rumours directly through her Instagram Stories, stating clearly: "I want to clear this straight that we are not the people involved in this issue."
She emphasized that social acquaintance or photographs with individuals doesn't imply connection to their personal matters, urging respect and avoidance of hasty conclusions.
Family Confirms New Wedding Plans
According to Palaash's mother, Amita Muchhal, it was Palaash who insisted on postponing the ceremony despite the haldi ritual being completed. The emotional strain left him in tears before his hospital admission. His sister, singer Palak Muchhal, visited him during treatment.
Amita Muchhal confirmed in an interview with Hindustan Times that both Smriti and Palaash are emotionally distressed but the wedding will proceed soon. "Smriti and Palaash dono takleef mein hain... Everything will be fine, shaadi bahut jaldi hogi," she assured.
Following these developments, Smriti Mandhana and her bridesmaids removed all wedding-related photos from their social media accounts. The families are currently working to determine a new date for the ceremony.
