Sunny Leone Marks a Decade as Splitsvilla Host, Shares Heartwarming Family Moments

Sunny Leone, who has become synonymous with the popular dating reality show Splitsvilla, has reached a significant milestone, completing 10 years as the host of the series. Since taking over from season 7, she has been a constant presence, guiding contestants through romantic challenges and dramatic twists. For the latest season 16, she has teamed up with co-host Karan Kundrra, adding a fresh dynamic to the show's format.

Children's Unique Upbringing on Splitsvilla Sets

In an exclusive chat with IANS, Sunny Leone opened up about a deeply personal aspect of her journey, revealing that her three children have practically grown up on the sets of Splitsvilla. She shared that they have been accompanying her to the show since their birth, making it their seventh year of exposure to the behind-the-scenes action. "My kids have been coming to Splitsvilla since they were born, and I think this is their seventh year on the sets," Sunny explained. "They genuinely love Splitsvilla. They haven’t watched it on television, but they have been there on the sets, watching everyone work. The entire crew knows my children, as they have met them since they were babies."

Special Memories and Family Bonds

Sunny fondly recalled precious moments with her children during her hosting duties, highlighting how they have always been by her side. "I even have pictures of my boys in the pool on the Splitsvilla sets when they were very small. They were always with me while I was working, and those memories with the show and my kids are truly special," she said. This unique upbringing has allowed her kids to form a close bond with the show's environment and crew, creating lasting memories that Sunny cherishes deeply.

Kids' Engagement with Show Challenges

Contrary to concerns about children watching reality TV, Sunny expressed no reservations about her kids viewing Splitsvilla. She noted that they watch challenges with full attention and even pick up on intricate details. "I honestly don’t feel there is anything wrong with what they see. During one challenge, they were watching very closely and even picked up on the smallest details," she shared. "Later, they came to me saying things like someone was cheating, someone didn’t follow the rules, or why people were fighting. I explained to them in simple terms that everyone was competing to win the challenge, and they understood it from their level."

Sunny emphasized that while her children may not grasp all the dialogue, she provides explanations afterward, ensuring they comprehend the context. "They may not understand all the words being used, but since I explain things to them later, I feel comfortable with it," she added. Her kids don't watch the entire episodes but enjoy specific challenges, and their understanding has grown over time. "They don’t watch the entire show; they just see one challenge here and there. Until last year, they had only watched bits and pieces, but recently they have started understanding what’s happening. They don’t watch the dome sessions because it gets too late and they go to bed," Sunny explained.
