Vijay Vows No Corruption Under Pressure at TVK Rally, Unveils Whistle Symbol
Vijay Takes on DMK, AIADMK at TVK Event, Unveils Party Symbol

In a significant political address, Tamil superstar and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay made a bold declaration at a massive party rally in Mamallapuram, Chengalpattu district, Tamil Nadu, on January 25, 2026. The actor-turned-politician asserted that he would not succumb to political pressure or engage in corruption, positioning his party as a fresh alternative in the state's political landscape.

Taking Aim at Ruling and Opposition Parties

Vijay delivered pointed criticism against both the current ruling party and previous administration without naming them directly. He stated that only TVK possesses the "guts and attitude" to confront what he described as the "evil force" currently governing Tamil Nadu and the "corrupt force" that previously held power.

"The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has directly surrendered to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has indirectly surrendered to it," Vijay told the enthusiastic gathering. "We do not bow down to any pressure. Does this face look like it would succumb to pressure? That will never happen."

Anti-Corruption Pledge and Political Philosophy

The TVK leader made a comprehensive anti-corruption commitment during his speech, drawing clear distinctions between his approach and that of established political parties. "I will not commit corruption like those before or those here now. I will not touch even a single paisa. Not even a drop of a corruption stain will occur," he vowed, as quoted by news agency PTI.

Addressing potential skepticism about his political transition from cinema, Vijay acknowledged practical realities: "You might ask, 'Is this a movie? Is this the film Mudhalvan? Will he come and clean everything in one day?' Practically, that is not possible. It is a process." He described the upcoming state assembly elections as a "democratic battle" and urged party workers to become commanders leading TVK to victory.

Unveiling of Party Symbol and Campaign Launch

The Mamallapuram event served as the formal launch platform for TVK's election symbol - the whistle - recently allotted by the Election Commission of India. In a symbolic gesture, Vijay blew a whistle to energize the crowd, effectively marking the commencement of his party's election campaign activities.

This political mobilization comes despite uncertainty surrounding Vijay's film "Jana Nayagan," touted as his cinematic swansong before full-time political entry. The political action drama remains in limbo, having failed to receive certification from the Central Board of Film Certification and currently stuck in legal proceedings at the Madras High Court.

Political Positioning and Future Directions

Vijay positioned TVK as a protective force for Tamil Nadu's people and territory: "We are here to save the people and protect the soil from anyone who intends to cause harm." He emphasized that his party would never compromise its political principles for anyone or anything.

The rally demonstrated Vijay's renewed focus on political activities as Tamil Nadu approaches crucial assembly elections. His direct criticism of both DMK and AIADMK, combined with strong anti-corruption rhetoric and the symbolic unveiling of the whistle as party emblem, signals TVK's intention to present itself as a credible third force in Tamil Nadu politics.
