Mumbai Crime Branch Uncovers Critical Weapons Link in Rohit Shetty Firing Investigation
The shocking incident of gunfire outside acclaimed Bollywood director Rohit Shetty's residence in Juhu has escalated into a major criminal investigation, with the Mumbai Crime Branch uncovering a significant weapons supply connection. On the evening of January 31, four distinct gunshots reverberated outside Shetty's residential building, prompting immediate police response and launching a comprehensive probe into the alarming event.
Facebook Post Claims Responsibility and Issues Direct Threat
Shortly after the incident, a disturbing post surfaced on Facebook, allegedly authored by the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The message explicitly claimed responsibility for the firing, stating it was executed as a warning to Rohit Shetty. The post declared that Shetty had been previously cautioned against interfering in the gang's affairs, and when he "did not understand," they delivered what they termed a "small trailer." The communication contained an ominous threat, warning that if Shetty still "fails to understand," the next shot would be fired "inside the bedroom," intensifying concerns for the filmmaker's safety.
Crime Branch Identifies Weapons Supplier with Gang Connections
According to ANI reports, the Mumbai Crime Branch has made a crucial breakthrough by identifying Asaram Fasle as the individual who supplied the weapons used in the attack. Investigators revealed that Fasle has been associated with the Bishnoi gang for approximately four years, previously working as a garage mechanic before his criminal involvement. The investigation indicates that Fasle was influenced to join the gang by Shubham Lonkar, who is connected to the high-profile Baba Siddiqui murder case.
Police sources state that Fasle provided the weapons to Swapnil Sakat under instructions from Shubham Lonkar. These weapons were subsequently passed to an unidentified shooter, believed to be the perpetrator who fired outside Rohit Shetty's building. As of now, authorities have not made any arrests in connection with Fasle's involvement.
Five Suspects Detained in Connection with the Incident
On February 1, Mumbai police took five individuals into custody for questioning regarding the firing incident. The detained suspects have been identified as:
- Aman Anand Marote
- Aditya Gyaneshwar Gayaki
- Siddharth Deepak Yenpure
- Samarth Shivsharan Pomaji
- Swapnil Bandu Sakat
Law enforcement officials believe these individuals may have involvement in the planning or execution of the attack, though formal charges have not yet been filed.
Gang Members Publicly Claim Responsibility on Social Media
In a brazen display, members of the Bishnoi gang including Shubham Lonkar, Arju Bishnoi, and Hari Boxer Hasan Sambhu publicly claimed responsibility for the attack through social media channels. Their posts reiterated that Rohit Shetty had received prior warnings, and when he allegedly failed to comply, they executed the firing as a demonstrative message. Police authorities are currently verifying these claims and investigating the digital evidence as part of their comprehensive case.
Enhanced Security Measures Implemented for Rohit Shetty
In response to the explicit threats, security arrangements for Rohit Shetty have been significantly strengthened. The filmmaker is preparing to commence shooting for "Golmaal Five" around February 15, and authorities have implemented a robust two-tier security protocol for his protection. Reports indicate that more than sixty security personnel will be deployed daily on the film set to ensure comprehensive area surveillance and protection.
Shetty has adopted a low-profile approach during this period, reportedly advising close friends and colleagues including prominent actors Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar to refrain from visiting him temporarily as a precautionary measure. The entertainment industry has expressed concern over this targeted attack, highlighting growing security challenges for high-profile figures in Bollywood.
