The much-anticipated romantic drama 'Chand Mera Dil', starring Lakshya Lalwani and Ananya Panday, hit the big screens on May 22, 2026. Directed by Vivek Soni and backed by Karan Johar's production house, the film has garnered mixed reviews from both audiences and critics. Despite a lackluster opening day at the box office, the earnings are considered decent given the minimal pre-release buzz and hype surrounding the project.
Box Office Collection Day 1
According to a report from Sacnilk, the film minted Rs 2.90 crore across 4,944 shows on its first day. The total India gross collections stand at Rs 3.39 crore, while the net earnings are Rs 2.90 crore. The film recorded an overall theater occupancy of 17.31% on Day 1.
In comparison, 'Chand Mera Dil' outperformed the opening day collection of Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi's 'Ek Din', which earned Rs 1.15 crore. However, the film faces stiff competition from last week's release, 'Pati Patni Aur Woh Do', starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh, Sara Ali Khan, and Wamiqa Gabbi. Additionally, it clashed at the box office with the Hollywood release 'Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu'.
