The blockbuster juggernaut Dhurandhar shows no signs of slowing down, demonstrating phenomenal staying power as it enters its fourth week in cinemas. The Ranveer Singh-led spy thriller has achieved the monumental feat of crossing the ₹1,000 crore mark in worldwide collections and is now inching closer to the lifetime earnings of Shah Rukh Khan's mega-hit Jawan.
Steady Collections and Record-Breaking Pace
After overtaking the global collection of Pathaan in a mere 24 days, Dhurandhar has cemented its place as one of the fastest Indian films to enter the elite ₹1,000 crore club. As per the latest figures from Jio Studios, the film added approximately ₹11.2 crore on its fourth Monday, pushing its domestic total to around ₹741.9 crore. The film's global earnings now stand at an impressive ₹1,081 crore.
Trade trackers report that the film earned over ₹20 crore in its fourth week alone domestically, a rare achievement for a big-budget action film. By 6 pm on its fourth Tuesday, it had added another ₹7.15 crore, taking its India net collection to about ₹708.15 crore at that point.
Strong Audience Footfall in Week Four
Despite multiple new releases, audience interest remains robust. On its fourth Monday, Dhurandhar recorded an overall occupancy of 21.27% in theatres nationwide. The occupancy breakdown shows a strong turnout for later shows:
- Morning shows: 11.98%
- Afternoon shows: 25.17%
- Evening shows: 26.67%
Key metropolitan markets continued to perform well. In the Delhi-NCR region, the film saw about 21% occupancy across more than 1,000 shows. Mumbai recorded close to 20.67% occupancy across over 850 shows.
Climbing the All-Time Charts and Industry Reactions
Dhurandhar is steadily ascending the ranks of the highest-grossing Indian films ever. On the domestic front, it is yet to surpass giants like Pushpa 2: The Rule, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, KGF: Chapter 2, and RRR. Its momentum has remained largely unaffected by new competitors such as Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri and Avatar: Ash and Fire.
The film's success has sparked significant conversation within the film industry. While filmmakers like Karan Johar, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and Ram Gopal Varma have praised director Aditya Dhar's storytelling, others like Sriram Raghavan have offered a nuanced view. In an interview with The Hindu, Raghavan acknowledged the film's strong craft and performances but noted that its filmmaking style is not one he would personally adopt.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun. Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, the film was released in theatres on 5 December.
Buoyed by this historic success, the makers have already announced a sequel. Dhurandhar 2 is slated for a theatrical release on 19 March 2026, setting the stage for the next chapter in this blockbuster spy franchise.
