Dhurandhar Box Office Roars Past Rs 1200 Cr, But Akshaye Khanna's Brother Yet to Watch
Dhurandhar Box Office Hits Rs 1200 Cr, Rahul Khanna Yet to Watch

The espionage action film 'Dhurandhar' continues its unstoppable run in cinemas, setting the box office on fire more than a month after its debut. However, in a surprising revelation, actor Rahul Khanna, the brother of one of the film's stars, Akshaye Khanna, has admitted he has not yet watched the blockbuster on the big screen.

Rahul Khanna Awaits a Personal Screening

In a recent conversation with Mid-Day, Rahul Khanna shared that he has personal reasons for not having seen the film that features his brother in a critically acclaimed role. Akshaye Khanna portrays the character of Rehman Dakait in the Aditya Dhar-directed thriller.

"I haven't seen the movie yet; I'm waiting for him (Akshaye Khanna) to show it to me," Rahul stated. He added with a smile, "But anything he wears looks great; I'm sure he looks fantastic." This candid admission highlights a unique family dynamic amidst the film's massive public success.

Unbreakable Brotherly Bond

The relationship between the Khanna brothers has always been notably close and independent. In a past interview, Akshaye Khanna reflected on this bond, emphasizing its enduring nature. "My relationship with my brother was independent of my parents. In that sense, it hasn't changed," he explained.

He further elaborated on the importance of family, saying, "But the immediate family for an individual is parents and siblings, and once that starts getting smaller, you hold on to what is left even more." This insight adds a layer of depth to Rahul's wait for a personal screening, framing it as a potential shared experience rather than a mere oversight.

A Box Office Juggernaut

While one Khanna brother awaits his viewing, audiences worldwide have made 'Dhurandhar' a monumental hit. Released on December 5, 2025, the film has shown incredible staying power.

On its 31st day in theaters, the Ranveer Singh-led film added an impressive Rs 12.75 crore to its total. Its domestic (India) collection now stands at a staggering Rs 772.25 crore. The film's global earnings are even more spectacular, having reportedly crossed the monumental Rs 1200 crore mark worldwide.

The film boasts an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, and R. Madhavan alongside Akshaye Khanna. Given its phenomenal success, the anticipation for the sequel is already building. Part two of 'Dhurandhar' is scheduled for release on March 19, 2026.
