Ranveer Singh's high-octane action spectacle, Dhurandhar, continues its monumental run at the domestic box office, setting its sights on a historic milestone. On its thirteenth day in theatres, the film has not only solidified its position as a blockbuster but has also overtaken a major cinematic giant, paving its way to challenge Sunny Deol's iconic Gadar 2.
Day 13 Earnings and Historic Leap
According to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, Dhurandhar added Rs 25.5 crore to its kitty on its second Thursday. This robust earning has propelled the film's total India net collection to an impressive Rs 437 crore. With this figure, the Aditya Dhar directorial has achieved a significant feat by surpassing the domestic net collection of SS Rajamouli's epic Baahubali: The Beginning. The 2015 film had earned approximately Rs 421 crore in India, a record now broken by Dhurandhar's relentless performance.
The Next Target: Gadar 2's Dominance
Having crossed the Baahubali milestone, the film's next target is clearly in view. The current record for the second-highest Hindi grosser in India is held by Sunny Deol's 2023 phenomenon, Gadar 2, which amassed Rs 525 crore domestically. With Dhurandhar still running strongly in cinemas and its current total, industry analysts believe it is highly likely to dethrone Gadar 2 within the next few days. This would make it the second-highest Hindi grosser of all time in India, a remarkable achievement for a 2025 release.
The film's success isn't confined to the domestic market. On the global stage, Dhurandhar is inching closer to another massive benchmark. Its worldwide collection currently stands at a staggering Rs 664 crore. The makers are now hopeful of reaching the coveted Rs 700 crore worldwide mark. Achieving this would mean overtaking the global collection of Gadar 2, which sits at approximately Rs 686 crore.
Occupancy and Upcoming Competition
The audience interest remains steady, with the overall occupancy for day 13 averaging 35.28%. While this showed a slight dip from the previous day, the evening and night shows demonstrated strong pull with occupancies of 41.77% and 45.14%, respectively. The morning and afternoon shows recorded 19.48% and 34.72%.
However, the film is set to face its biggest test yet this coming weekend. James Cameron's much-anticipated sequel, Avatar: Fire and Ash, is slated for a wide release across India. This will inevitably lead to a significant sharing of screens and audience attention, posing a challenge to Dhurandhar's uninterrupted dream run.
Directed by Aditya Dhar of Uri: The Surgical Strike fame, Dhurandhar boasts a powerful ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, and R Madhavan. The film's blend of patriotic action and stellar performances has clearly resonated with audiences across the nation, making it the second-highest Hindi grosser of 2025 and a box office phenomenon that is rewriting records.
