The cinematic landscape of India has witnessed a new titan rise. The film Dhurandhar has completed a monumental 36-day run in theaters, firmly establishing itself as one of the most successful films in the history of Indian cinema. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie has amassed a staggering worldwide collection of Rs 793.75 crore, catapulting it to the position of the fourth biggest blockbuster of all time in India.
A Runaway Box Office Juggernaut
The journey of Dhurandhar began with a powerful opening day haul of Rs 28 crore. However, it was the film's exceptional performance over its first weekend, culminating in a Rs 43 crore Sunday, that signaled this was no ordinary release. The film displayed remarkable resilience post-weekend, closing its first week at an impressive Rs 207.25 crore.
The true spectacle unfolded in the second week. Defying all conventional box office logic, Dhurandhar witnessed a massive 22% growth, adding a phenomenal Rs 253.25 crore to its kitty. This surge was driven by unprecedented walk-in audiences, festive holidays, and a rapidly growing base of repeat viewers. The film's momentum remained robust in the subsequent weeks, collecting Rs 172 crore in Week 3, Rs 106.5 crore in Week 4, and Rs 51.25 crore in Week 5. Even in its sixth week, the film added Rs 3.5 crore on Friday, proving its staying power against new competitors.
Climbing the All-Time Greats List
With its current total, Dhurandhar has surpassed numerous legendary films across Indian languages. It now sits proudly in the fourth spot on the all-time earnings chart. The only films ahead of it are:
- Pushpa 2 (Rs 1234.1 crore)
- Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1030 crore)
- KGF Chapter 2 (Rs 859.7 crore)
The next target for Dhurandhar is clearly in sight. The film requires approximately Rs 65.95 crore more to overtake KGF Chapter 2 and claim the coveted third position on the historic list.
From Opener to Decade-Defining Phenomenon
Regardless of its final standing, Dhurandhar has achieved a rare feat by transforming from a strong opening-weekend performer into a once-in-a-decade theatrical phenomenon. Its sustained performance over more than a month highlights its deep connection with audiences across the nation.
The excitement for the franchise is set to continue, with the second part scheduled for release on 19th March 2026. This will bring the stellar ensemble cast, including Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Aditya Dhar, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera, and Sara Arjun, back to the big screen, promising another cinematic event.
