Dhurandhar Box Office Day 17: Hits Rs 555.75 Cr in India, Eyes 2025 Top Spot
Dhurandhar Nears Rs 1000 Cr Worldwide, Set to Beat Kantara 2

The box office juggernaut Dhurandhar shows no signs of relenting, as the Ranveer Singh-starrer continues its record-smashing spree well into its third week. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, has not only solidified its dominance in the domestic market but is also on the cusp of becoming the highest-earning Indian film of the year 2025 on the global stage.

Record-Breaking Domestic and Global Haul

On its third weekend, Dhurandhar exhibited phenomenal staying power. The film collected a massive Rs 34.25 crore on its third Saturday, December 21, 2024. This was followed by an even more impressive Rs 38.5 crore on Sunday, December 22. These figures have propelled its total net collection in India to a staggering Rs 555.75 crore after 17 days.

The film's success is truly a worldwide phenomenon. Dhurandhar has now crossed the monumental Rs 800 crore mark in global box office earnings. It is now merely a few crores away from overtaking the lifetime worldwide collection of Kantara: The Legend – Chapter 1, which stands at Rs 852.27 crore. Surpassing this milestone will officially crown Dhurandhar as the top-grossing Indian film released in 2025.

Milestones Surpassed and Path Ahead

In its triumphant run, Dhurandhar has already left several major films in its wake. It has overtaken the global lifetime collection of the period drama Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, Akshaye Khanna, and Rashmika Mandanna. Chhaava, released on Valentine's Day, had concluded its run with Rs 807.91 crore worldwide.

The film's sustained audience appeal was evident on its 17th day (Sunday), where it recorded a strong overall occupancy of 61.89% across thousands of shows. If the current momentum holds, industry analysts predict that Dhurandhar is firmly on track to breach the coveted Rs 1,000 crore worldwide mark. This would be a historic first in Ranveer Singh's illustrious 15-year career, surpassing the global totals of his previous blockbusters like Bajirao Mastani (~Rs 357 crore) and Padmaavat (~Rs 585 crore).

Cleared Path and Forthcoming Competition

Originally, Dhurandhar was slated to face direct competition from Sriram Raghavan's Ikkis, featuring Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra, around Christmas. However, the makers of Ikkis opted to push their release to January 1, 2026, effectively clearing the theatrical window for Dhurandhar to continue its unchallenged run.

The next potential challenger at the box office is the Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday-led romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. Whether this film can slow down Dhurandhar's monumental earnings remains to be seen, but for now, the Aditya Dhar directorial reigns supreme, rewriting record books with each passing day.
