The much-awaited Malayalam thriller 'Drishyam 3', starring Mohanlal and directed by Jeethu Joseph, experienced a decline in box office collections on its second day. Despite this drop, the film continues to perform robustly worldwide.
Day 2 Collections See Expected Dip
According to Sacnilk, 'Drishyam 3' collected Rs 11.05 crore net in India on Day 2, compared to Rs 15.85 crore net on its opening day. This represents a 30.3 percent decrease in collections on Friday. The film was screened across 4,886 shows on Day 2, down from 5,506 shows on Day 1. Overall occupancy also dipped from 51.3 percent on opening day to 44.5 percent on the second day. With this, the film's total India net collection now stands at Rs 26.90 crore, while the India gross collection has reached Rs 31.18 crore in just two days.
Overseas Market for 'Drishyam 3' Continues Strong Run
While domestic numbers saw a decline, the overseas market remained solid for the Mohanlal-starrer. 'Drishyam 3' reportedly collected Rs 20 crore overseas on Day 2 alone, pushing the total overseas gross to Rs 45 crore. The film's worldwide gross collection now stands at an impressive Rs 76.18 crore after just two days in theatres.
Kerala Leads Occupancy Numbers
Among all versions, the Malayalam version continued to dominate at the box office. The film collected Rs 9.85 crore net from the Malayalam version alone on Day 2. Malayalam occupancy remained strong at 61 percent overall, with night shows recording the highest occupancy at 68.33 percent and evening shows registering 64.92 percent. Tamil occupancy stood at 38.05 percent overall, while Telugu occupancy was recorded at 18.42 percent. Kannada occupancy remained lower at 17.58 percent. Kerala emerged as the top-performing state with a Day 2 gross collection of Rs 8.85 crore, followed by Karnataka with Rs 1.50 crore and Tamil Nadu with Rs 1 crore.

The excitement around 'Drishyam 3' intensified after Mohanlal joined fans for the first day first show screening. Several videos from the theatre went viral on social media, with one particular clip showing the actor getting emotional while watching the audience reaction inside the packed theatre.
