The Raja Saab Faces Tough Competition at Box Office
Prabhas' latest film The Raja Saab continues to face challenges at the domestic box office. On its fifth day of release, the horror comedy earned just Rs 4.85 crore across India. This marks the film's lowest single-day collection since its premiere.
Steady Decline in Daily Collections
The film's earnings have shown a consistent downward trend. After a strong opening day collection of Rs 53.75 crore across five languages, the numbers have steadily decreased. The film earned Rs 26 crore on Saturday, followed by Rs 19.10 crore on Sunday. Monday saw a drop to Rs 6.60 crore before Tuesday's disappointing Rs 4.85 crore figure.
When including preview show earnings of Rs 9.15 crore from Thursday, The Raja Saab's total India collection now stands at Rs 119.45 crore. This performance places it among Prabhas' lowest-performing films since his 2022 release Radhe Shyam, which earned Rs 97.70 crore in its first five days.
Language-Wise Breakdown of Earnings
The film's earnings show clear preferences among different language audiences:
- Telugu version: Rs 87 crore (maximum share)
- Hindi dubbed version: Rs 18 crore
- Tamil version: Rs 7.13 crore
- Kannada version: Rs 23 lakh
- Malayalam version: Rs 10 lakh
Chiranjeevi's Film Emerges as Strong Competitor
Despite releasing on a Friday before the Sankranti festival weekend, The Raja Saab now faces stiff competition from Chiranjeevi's Mana ShankaraVaraprasad Garu. The Anil Ravipudi-directed action thriller released on Monday and immediately made a strong impact.
Chiranjeevi's film earned Rs 32.25 crore on its opening day, significantly outperforming The Raja Saab's Tuesday collection by over Rs 25 crore. On Tuesday, the new release added Rs 19.50 crore to its total, maintaining a strong lead over Prabhas' film.
Competition Across Different Markets
The challenges for The Raja Saab extend beyond the Telugu market. In the Hindi circuit, Aditya Dhar's period spy thriller Dhurandhar continues to perform well. The Ranveer Singh-starrer earned Rs 2.50 crore on its 40th day, showing remarkable staying power.
Tamil audiences are showing more interest in Sudha Kongara's period political action thriller Parasakthi. The Sivakarthikeyan-starrer earned Rs 2.55 crore on its fourth day, presenting another challenge for Prabhas' film in that market.
Worldwide Performance and Cast Details
On the global front, The Raja Saab crossed the Rs 200 crore mark at the worldwide box office on Monday. However, Tuesday's overseas earnings remain undisclosed at this time.
The film features an ensemble cast including Malavika Mohanan in her Telugu debut, along with Niddhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Sanjay Dutt as the main antagonist, Boman Irani, and Zarina Wahab. TG Vishwa Prasad's production house People Media Factory produced the film.
As the Sankranti festival period continues, box office competition remains intense. Both films will need to maintain audience interest through the holiday weekend to achieve their financial targets.
