The Raja Saab Box Office Collection Day 9: A Significant Slowdown
Prabhas' latest film, The Raja Saab, is facing a tough time at the box office as it moves into its second week. The Telugu horror-comedy, directed by Maruthi, started with a decent opening and managed to pull in around Rs 130 crore in its first week across all languages. However, the excitement has clearly faded after the initial rush.
Day 9 Earnings Hit a New Low
On Saturday, which was Day 9 of its release, The Raja Saab recorded its lowest single-day earnings so far. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film collected approximately Rs 2.86 crore at the box office. This figure represents a sharp decline of about 18.29% compared to the previous day, highlighting the film's struggling momentum in its second week.
The total box office collection for The Raja Saab in India now stands at nearly Rs 136 crore. This indicates a noticeable drop in audience turnout, raising concerns about its overall performance.
Occupancy Rates Tell a Similar Story
On Saturday, The Raja Saab registered an overall Telugu occupancy of 32.52%. The day began slowly with morning shows seeing only 21.77% occupancy. As the day progressed, there was a slight improvement. Afternoon shows recorded 36.24% occupancy, while evening shows stood at 35.33%. Night shows performed a bit better with 36.74% occupancy, suggesting that footfalls were relatively stronger in the latter part of the day.
Challenges Ahead for the Film
Despite Prabhas' massive fan following and the initial buzz surrounding the film, The Raja Saab has struggled to maintain consistent audience numbers beyond its first week. Given its reported high budget, the film urgently needs a strong turnaround in the coming days to stabilize its box office performance and recover costs.
The Raja Saab is produced by People Media Factory and features Prabhas in the lead role. The ensemble cast includes notable names like Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Zarina Wahab, Boman Irani, and Riddhi Kumar, adding star power to the project.
As the film navigates its second week, all eyes are on whether it can bounce back and attract more viewers to the theaters.
