The historical action drama 'Raja Shivaji' is continuing its successful run at the box office. The film completed its second week and has officially become the second highest earning Marathi film of all time.
'Raja Shivaji' Box Office Collection Day 14
As per a report on Sacnilk, the film added an estimated Rs 1.90 crore net to its collections on Thursday, concluding its second week on a steady note. The film was initially estimated to collect over Rs 2.25 crore on Thursday but fell slightly short of early predictions. Nonetheless, the film scored an estimated Week 2 total of Rs 24 crore.
Total Box Office Collections
This marks an almost 50% drop from its first-week collections, during which the film earned an estimated Rs 52.65 crore at the box office. The film now has an estimated total gross collection of Rs 90.10 crore, while its India net collections are estimated at Rs 76.95 crore so far.
Becomes Second-Highest Earning Marathi Film
'Raja Shivaji' has now surpassed the lifetime collection of the female-led blockbuster 'Baipan Bhari Deva'. The movie long held on to the second spot after grossing an estimated Rs 90.50 crore worldwide during its lifetime theatrical run.
Eyes Rs 100 Crore Mark
With the new record under its belt, 'Raja Shivaji' is now marching towards the prestigious Rs 100 crore milestone. This record also places the film only behind 'Sairat', which remains the industry's all-time highest grosser with around Rs 110 crore gross worldwide. Should the historical film hit the Rs 100 crore milestone, it will become only the second Marathi film in history to achieve the feat after 'Sairat'.
Directed by and starring Riteish Deshmukh as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, 'Raja Shivaji' is based on the life of the founder of the Maratha Empire.
