Suriya's fantasy action entertainer 'Karuppu' has experienced a remarkable surge at the box office during its third weekend. After slower weekday numbers, the film recorded a strong increase in collections, showcasing fresh momentum.
Strong Weekend Growth Pushes Numbers Up
'Karuppu' delivered a significant rise on Day 16, with collections jumping to Rs 5.15 crore net, representing a 58.5 percent growth from the previous day's Rs 3.25 crore. According to Sacnilk, the film grossed this amount across 3,292 shows, pushing its total India net collections to Rs 176.55 crore. The India gross collection now stands at Rs 204.21 crore.
The film had ended its first week with Rs 113.85 crore, and the second week contributed an additional Rs 54.30 crore to the overall total. During the opening week, Day 6 brought in Rs 10.70 crore and Day 7 added Rs 8.10 crore. In the second week, Day 13 collected Rs 4 crore, while Day 14 added Rs 4.95 crore.
Overseas Performance Remains Steady
International markets continued to add to the film's growing worldwide total. On Day 16, 'Karuppu' collected Rs 2 crore overseas, bringing the total overseas collections to Rs 77.75 crore. The film has now reached Rs 281.96 crore worldwide, moving closer to the Rs 300 crore milestone globally.
Region-wise, Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 4.50 crore in gross collections, followed by Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with Rs 78 lakhs. Karnataka added Rs 45 lakhs, Kerala contributed Rs 15 lakhs, and the rest of India brought in another Rs 5 lakhs.
Tamil occupancy remained healthy, with overall occupancy at 34.65 percent. Night occupancy touched 47.54 percent, reflecting stronger audience turnout during late shows.
'Karuppu' is a mythological mass entertainer directed by RJ Balaji. The film stars Suriya as Saravanan, a lawyer who becomes the human avatar of Karuppusamy.
