Kartik Aaryan's 'Tu Meri Main Tera' Sees Minor Sunday Dip, Earns Rs 23.87 Cr Weekend
Tu Meri Main Tera Box Office: Rs 5.37 Cr on Sunday

The festive weekend box office race in India saw a mixed performance from the new romantic comedy starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday. 'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri', directed by Sameer Vidwans, experienced a minor drop in its collections on its first Sunday, failing to show the significant growth typically expected during a holiday period.

Extended Weekend Box Office Numbers

As per early estimates reported by industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected approximately Rs 5.37 crore on Sunday, which was its fourth day in theatres after a Christmas Day debut. This figure represents a slight decline of about 2.36% from Saturday's earnings of Rs 5.5 crore. However, it managed to stay above the Friday collection of Rs 5.25 crore.

The film's highest single-day haul remains its opening day, Thursday, December 25, when it earned an estimated Rs 7.75 crore. With these figures, the total net collection for the extended four-day opening weekend now stands at around Rs 23.87 crore domestically.

Stiff Competition from Other Releases

The primary reason cited for the film's inability to grow over the weekend is the intense competition from two other major releases. On Sunday, 'Tu Meri Main Tera' recorded the lowest collections among the trio. The action film 'Dhurandhar' dominated the day with a massive Rs 22 crore, while the Hollywood blockbuster 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' earned around Rs 10.75 crore.

This competitive landscape meant that despite the festive season, the Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday-starrer struggled to expand its audience reach. The film's worldwide total is currently estimated to be in the range of Rs 26 to 28 crore, which includes overseas earnings of roughly Rs 4 crore.

Where It Stands in the Stars' Careers

From a career perspective, the film has achieved a notable milestone for Ananya Panday. It has now surpassed the collection of 'Liger' to enter her top five highest-earning films to date. For Kartik Aaryan, however, the journey to a major career high is longer.

The film still needs to cross the lifetime collection of 'Shehzada', which stands at Rs 32 crore and is currently Kartik's 10th highest-grossing film. It is noteworthy that while Aaryan has delivered powerful openings with films like 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' (Rs 36 crore) and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' (Rs 14 crore), his other openings have typically remained below the Rs 10 crore mark.

The coming weekdays will be crucial for 'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri' to demonstrate staying power and recover ground lost to its competitors during the crowded holiday weekend.
