Jana Nayagan Advance Booking Hits ₹15 Crore, Vijay's Final Film Eyes Record Opening
Vijay's Jana Nayagan advance booking crosses ₹15 crore globally

The cinematic world is gearing up for a monumental farewell as Thalapathy Vijay's final film, Jana Nayagan, is already creating waves at the box office even before its release. Advance bookings for the superstar's swan song have commenced, revealing staggering numbers that hint at a historic opening.

Advance Booking Numbers Signal a Blockbuster

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Jana Nayagan has already amassed approximately ₹15 crore globally from advance bookings for its opening day, which includes paid premiere shows. This impressive figure has been achieved with nearly a week still left for the film's release.

Breaking down the domestic collection, the film has garnered over ₹3 crore from India. Notably, ticket sales are currently active only in the Karnataka and Kerala regions. The robust response from these limited markets strongly suggests a grand opening day performance across the country.

Overseas Markets Lead the Charge

The international appeal of Thalapathy Vijay is shining through, with the overseas advance collection contributing a massive ₹11 to 12 crore to the total. Key markets driving these sales include North America, the United Kingdom, and Australia, where Vijay commands a loyal and extensive fan base.

With crucial Indian markets like Tamil Nadu and the Hindi belt yet to open their advance booking windows, a significant surge in these numbers is widely anticipated. The film's true box office potential will become clearer as bookings go live nationwide.

The Final Bow: Vijay's Political Pivot

Jana Nayagan marks the end of an era, being the last cinematic outing for Vijay before he fully transitions into politics. The actor recently launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), and is set to contest in the upcoming elections.

During the film's audio launch event in Malaysia, Vijay emotionally addressed his decision. He stated that while he entered cinema thinking he was building a small sand house, his fans helped him construct a palace and a fort. “For the fans who gave up everything for me, I’m giving up cinema itself,” he declared, explaining his move to public service.

Directed by H Vinoth, the film features Vijay in the lead alongside Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol. The supporting cast includes Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Priyamani. The technical crew boasts composer Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer Sathyan Sooryan, and editor Pradeep E. Ragav. The film is produced by Venkat K. Narayana under KVN Production.

Jana Nayagan is scheduled for a worldwide release on January 9, 2026, coinciding with the Pongal festival. It is set for a major box office clash with Prabhas' The Raja Saab and Sivakarthikeyan's Parasakthi from Red Giant Movies, making the Pongal weekend a high-stakes battle for audience attention.
