Lucknow: Around 80 participants showcased vibrant Kathak performances at the closing ceremony of a summer workshop organised by Birju Maharaj Kathak Sansthan at Kala Mandapam on Sunday, with family members cheering them on.
Highlights of the Event
The programme opened with Hanuman Ashtakam, where nearly 35 participants depicted Lord Hanuman’s journey to the Himalayas to fetch Sanjeevani for Lakshman, highlighting his devotion to Ram and Sita. Young girls aged 5 to 12 performed to the Dadra “Roko Na Dagar More Shyam”, portraying the divine love of Radha and Krishna.
Finale and Special Guests
The finale featured a dance drama on Lord Ram’s life. Chairperson Kumkum Dhar praised the children’s dedication. Akashvani’s Sumona S Pandey was the chief guest.
