Udupi: Anant Ambani, the businessman and noted philanthropist, visited the Kollur Sri Mookambika temple on Sunday and offered his prayers. He arrived at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) aboard a special flight and then traveled by road to the temple, dressed in a traditional white South Indian panche and shalya.
Temple Committee Welcomes Ambani
Temple committee president Babu Shetty stated that Ambani reached the temple around 7:30 PM, offered prayers, and spent approximately 30 minutes there. “The committee accorded him a warm welcome and honored him as part of its tradition,” Shetty said.
“The divine power of Mookambika Temple draws devotees from every corner of the globe. Founded by Sri Adi Shankaracharya over 1,200 years ago, this sacred site holds a profound spiritual legacy,” he added.
Previous Visit Cancelled Due to Weather
Temple authorities noted that Ambani’s scheduled visit on Saturday was canceled due to bad weather in Mumbai.
On Friday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister CP Vijay offered a silver sword to Goddess Mookambika at the temple during his visit.
