Angelina Jolie has listed her historic Los Angeles estate for USD 29.85 million, signaling her preparation for greater flexibility once her youngest children reach adulthood in 2026. The Oscar-winning actress is selling the Los Feliz compound that was once owned by legendary filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille. The estate spans more than 2 acres and includes a six-bedroom, 10-bathroom mansion with 11,000 square feet of living space.
Angelina Jolie Lists Historic Los Angeles Home
According to People magazine, the California compound features a Beaux-Arts-style mansion, a guest house studio with a private gated entry, a pool house, a fitness studio, a tea house, and a separate garage with a security station. The listing is held by Ernie Carsell of Sotheby's International Realty. The property offers sweeping views of the Hollywood Hills and the Griffith Observatory. It is adorned with century-old trees, rolling lawns, and provides complete privacy from the outside world. The home was first conceived by architect B. Cooper Corbett in 1913. DeMille acquired it in 1916, and his family retained ownership until the late 1980s.
The Wall Street Journal, citing property records, reported that Jolie purchased the Los Feliz home in 2017 for USD 24.5 million. She bought it a year after filing for divorce from Brad Pitt.
Angelina Jolie Plans Life Beyond Los Angeles
Jolie had hinted at leaving Los Angeles in an August 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter. She stated that she remained in the city "because I have to be here from a divorce." Jolie and Pitt filed for divorce in September 2016 after two years of marriage and approximately 11 years as a couple. They share six children: Maddox, 24; Pax, 22; Zahara, 20; Shiloh, 19; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17.
Once the twins turn 18 on July 12, 2026, Jolie expressed her desire to live abroad. "When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety," she said at the time. "I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here." She added, "I'll spend a lot of time in Cambodia," where she adopted Maddox in 2002. She also noted, "I'll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world."
Last December, a source told People that Jolie had begun showing the home to pre-qualified buyers after renovations. "She's ready for a life that isn't centered in Los Angeles," the source said. The source also mentioned that the 'Eternals' star has "a lot of projects she's excited about" and is "looking forward to 2026 and the flexibility she'll have then."
