Ariel Winter and Nolan Gould Now Real-Life Roommates in LA
Ariel Winter and Nolan Gould Are Real-Life Roommates

Ariel Winter has confirmed that she is now living with her Modern Family co-star Nolan Gould, just four days after announcing her breakup with long-term boyfriend Luke Benward. Winter, who played Alex Dunphy on the hit sitcom, and Gould, who portrayed her younger brother Luke Dunphy, have turned their onscreen sibling bond into a real-life roommate arrangement in Los Angeles, years after the show concluded.

A New Living Arrangement

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Winter revealed that she decided to rent a house with Gould after spending more time in Los Angeles. Prior to their split, she had been living with Benward in Nashville since 2022. “It’s funny because I spend more time out here now and I rent a house with Nolan. People ask me about a Modern Family reboot, but Nolan and I are real roommates now,” Winter said. She added, “It’s like we’re having our own little Modern Family reboot, but it’s just the two of us living together. So I see him every day.”

Winter also noted that their daily routine has revived the easygoing fun they shared while working together on the show. They often spend quiet evenings watching television. “I’m not gonna lie, when we sit there at night and we watch, like, Temptation Island together, it’s pretty hilarious,” she said.

Sharing Their Roommate Life Online

Winter mentioned that she and Gould have contemplated sharing snippets of their roommate life on social media. “So we have thought about [sharing] it. We’re just like, ‘People would find this really funny,’” she explained. This update comes as Winter navigates a new chapter following her breakup with Benward, and her close bond with Gould adds to the longstanding camaraderie among the Modern Family cast.

Enduring Cast Relationships

Winter has previously spoken about her ties with co-stars Julie Bowen, Sofía Vergara, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. “We really were like a real family,” she said. The cast has supported one another beyond the set as well. In 2022, Ferguson, who played Mitchell Pritchett, officiated the wedding of his onscreen niece Sarah Hyland (Haley Dunphy). Winter, Vergara, and Bowen also attended the ceremony. Additionally, Winter received support from cast members during her public estrangement and legal emancipation from her mother. Reports indicate that Bowen, who played her onscreen mother, helped her leave an abusive home environment.

This heartwarming update highlights the lasting bonds formed during the show's 11-season run, proving that for these actors, family extends far beyond the screen.
