In a heartwarming display of humanity and teamwork, the assistance of fellow passengers and railway staff helped a pregnant woman deliver a baby safely aboard the moving Agartala-Silchar Express on Monday. According to railway sources and witnesses, the woman went into labour while the train was en route to Silchar. Passengers and railway employees quickly came together to provide assistance and ensure her safety.
With the support of co-passengers and the prompt response of railway staff, the woman successfully gave birth to a healthy baby inside the train. Upon arrival at Silchar railway station, both the mother and the newborn were immediately shifted to an ambulance and taken to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for medical care. Hospital sources said both the mother and the child were stable.
The incident drew widespread appreciation from passengers, many of whom described it as a shining example of compassion and collective responsibility during a crisis.
